The first virtual Installation of a High Sheriff.This is one of the oldest roles in England dating back to the Middle Ages. The role is unpaid without even reimbursement of expenses. The holder has an active and supportive role within their Counties both in relation to the Police and emergency services and in lending encouragement to public sector agencies such as the probation and prison services and to voluntary sector organisations involved in crime reduction and social cohesion.
